Construction of the 705-unit affordable housing scheme in Limuru, Kiambu County, has moved into internal and external finishing stages, with plastering, window frame installation and door fixing now under way.

Work on the 705-unit Limuru Affordable Housing Project in Kiambu County continues to progress steadily, with site activities now focused on finishing rather than structural phases. Current operations include internal and external plastering, the fabrication and installation of steel window frames, ongoing masonry and blockwork, and the fixing of door frames. These tasks signal the project's shift from foundational and structural construction to the detailed finishing required before handover.

The development has maintained its schedule through consistent coordination and oversight from the State Department of Interior and National Administration, which has kept administrative and logistical matters aligned with planned timelines. The locals are already seeing direct benefits from the project. Artisans, technicians and general labourers from the surrounding area have secured employment on site, providing a steady source of income for many households in Limuru and nearby communities.

Limuru itself has grown quickly in recent years as a residential area for workers commuting to Nairobi. The new housing units are intended to meet part of the increasing need for affordable homes in the town, helping to reduce some of the housing pressure on Nairobi's more crowded central areas while strengthening Limuru's place within the wider metropolitan region.
