The Nanyuki Affordable Housing Project in Laikipia County is over 95% complete and is set to deliver 200 mixed-unit homes with options available under the Tenant Purchase Scheme (TPS), with manageable monthly installments starting from as low as KES 3,900.

The government's commitment to tackling the national housing deficit is evident in the remarkable progress of the Nanyuki Affordable Housing Project (AHP).

Located strategically in Laikipia County, this development is a cornerstone of the national Affordable Housing Programme, designed to provide accessible and dignified homes for low and middle-income Kenyans.

The project, currently reported to be over 95 per cent complete, is set to deliver a total of 200 residential units with a mix of studio, one-bedroom, two-bedroom, and three-bedroom apartments to the region.

This advanced stage of construction highlights an aggressive push by the government to realize its Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda (BETA) objectives.

The Nanyuki AHP sits on a five-acre site just outside the town, strategically positioned along the Nanyuki-Marura Road, ensuring excellent connectivity to the central business district.

The unit typology is thoughtfully structured to cater to diverse needs and affordability levels, with options available under the Tenant Purchase Scheme (TPS), with manageable monthly installments starting from as low as KES 3,900.

Beyond providing shelter, this project is already generating significant socio-economic benefits in Laikipia. It has created direct and indirect employment opportunities for local residents and suppliers, boosting the local construction value chain.

The successful near-completion of the Nanyuki project serves as a tangible demonstration of the potential for the national housing agenda, aimed at maximizing inclusivity and ensuring a vibrant, integrated community to drive economic growth and improve living standards across the country.
