KeRRA Advances Bamba-Ganze-Kilifi Road Works in Kilifi County

The Kenya Rural Roads Authority has made visible progress on the Bamba–Ganze–Kilifi Road in Kilifi County. Eighteen kilometres of the project have been completed, with works ongoing to improve the remaining sections. The upgrade forms part of broader efforts to enhance connectivity in coastal regions where poor road conditions have long hampered economic activity.

KeRRA officials highlighted the benefits already emerging in areas served by the improved sections. Farmers can now reach markets faster, reducing post-harvest losses and improving incomes. Traders report smoother operations, while access to schools and health facilities has become more reliable for residents. These gains align with the authority’s mandate to manage, develop, rehabilitate, and maintain rural roads across the country.

Kilifi County, known for agriculture, tourism, and fishing, stands to gain significantly from better rural links.
