The vacancies cover the Rironi to Gilgil section and the Rironi to Mai Mahiu to Naivasha South road project. Both initiatives form part of the wider Rironi–Mau Summit highway upgrade.
President William Ruto officially launched construction of the projects on 28 November 2025 at sites including Kamandura in Kiambu County. The dualling and expansion works target improved capacity on the busy Northern Corridor route.

As of mid-May 2026, the projects remain in the early phases of implementation. Initial works have begun on several sections, with mobilisation of equipment and site activities reported particularly along the Rironi-Naivasha stretch. Full completion is targeted for mid-2027.

Ongoing works
Positions are open in three broad categories. Construction and site works roles include general labourers, masons, steel fixers, formwork carpenters, concrete workers, welders, foremen and piling workers.
Drivers and plant operators form another key group. The company is seeking truck drivers, light vehicle drivers, water bowser drivers, oil tanker drivers, crane operators, crawler crane operators, piling rig operators, excavator operators, loader operators, grader operators, roller operators, bulldozer operators and other plant and machinery operators.
Technical and support positions include civil engineers, surveyors, plant and equipment engineers, mechanics, electricians, HSE officers and assistants, management support officers and security personnel.
Applicants must be legally eligible to work in Kenya and hold a valid National ID. Those with relevant experience and valid licences or certificates where required will be considered. The notice specifically encourages qualified candidates from communities along the project corridor to apply.
Interested individuals should submit their CV, a copy of their National ID, relevant certificates or licences, contact details and the position applied for. Applications must be sent by email to a8roadproject@crbc.com. The deadline is 25 May 2026. Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.
The company has warned against recruitment fraud. No fees are charged at any stage of the process for application, registration, interview, medical checks or facilitation. Applicants should not pay money to any agent, broker or third party. All official information will come through the email address provided.
China Road and Bridge Corporation Kenya emphasised its commitment to lawful, fair and transparent recruitment practices.
These road projects represent significant infrastructure activity in central Kenya. The A8 corridor serves as an important link between Nairobi, the Rift Valley and western parts of the country. Upgrades are expected to ease traffic, improve safety and support economic movement of goods and people.
The timing of the recruitment comes as construction works continue across several Chinese-funded road initiatives in Kenya. CRBC has delivered multiple major projects in the country over the past decade, including sections of the Standard Gauge Railway and various highway developments.
Workers with experience on similar road projects or those living near the project areas may have an advantage. The notice does not list specific numbers of positions available or salary details. Candidates are advised to apply promptly given the approaching deadline.
