Skyward Express Touches Down at Garissa Airstrip on New Route

Skyward Express (SE) has launched a new commercial flight service connecting Nairobi to Garissa, marking an expansion of regional transport links.

The inaugural flight departed from Wilson Airport (WAP) in Nairobi and landed at Garissa Airstrip (GA), where local authorities welcomed the aircraft.

Upon touchdown at the facility, the Kenya Airports Authority (KAA) received the inaugural flight with a traditional water-cannon salute.

The state agency confirmed that the landing officially opens up new air connectivity for residents, businesses, and transport operators within the broader northern region.

The newly established flight path represents the carrier's 13th domestic route in Kenya.

Skyward Express (SE) introduced the service alongside celebrations marking 13 years of operations in the country's aviation sector, extending scheduled commercial flights to the area.
