KeNHA Shares Fresh Progress on Kangundo-Kivaaani B63 Road Project

The Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) has provided a fresh progress update on the Kangundo-Kivaaani (B63) Road Project, announcing that construction has reached 16 per cent completion.

The update followed a site inspection led by KeNHA Director General Eng. Luka Kimeli, who toured the project to assess ongoing works and engage the project team on implementation progress.

KeNHA said construction continues to gather momentum, with works progressing across several sections of the corridor. The inspection also reviewed adherence to quality standards and the pace of delivery.

During the visit, Eng. Kimeli emphasised the need to sustain construction momentum while maintaining the required engineering and quality standards to ensure the project is completed efficiently and within schedule.

Photos released by the authority show ongoing earthworks, pavement preparation, drainage construction and culvert installation, alongside completed sections of road formation and other supporting infrastructure.

The project is expected to improve connectivity between communities served by the Kangundo-Kivaaani corridor, providing a safer and more reliable transport link for motorists, public transport operators and local businesses.

According to KeNHA, the upgraded road will also facilitate the movement of people and goods while unlocking greater socio-economic opportunities for communities along the route.

Once completed, the Kangundo-Kivaaani (B63) Road is expected to enhance regional connectivity, improve road safety and support economic growth by reducing travel times and improving access to markets and essential services.
