Senegalese football star Sadio Mané is developing a major agro-industrial project in Bambaly, his hometown situated within the Sédhiou region.
The venture is being executed through his corporate entity, SM10 Agro, marking a significant expansion of private investment into the agricultural sector in the Casamance zone.
Officially named the Bambaly Agro-Industrial Park, the facility occupies 500 hectares of land in the Boudhié Mar area. Located roughly five kilometres from the main settlement of Bambaly, the strategic choice of location leverages local rural land for large-scale production.
The facility will concentrate primarily on fruit production and processing operations. Project targets outlined by company planners aim for an annual processing capacity of 50,000 tonnes once full operational status is achieved.
Infrastructure planning for the park encompasses industrial processing units, logistics infrastructure, and dedicated cultivation zones designed to integrate local agricultural output into commercial supply chains.
The project framework is anticipated to generate approximately 2,500 direct jobs upon completion, providing significant employment opportunities across the southern region of Senegal.
According to initial schedules provided by SM10 Agro, official groundbreaking ceremonies for the site are expected to take place in September 2026.
The upcoming construction phase will establish physical facilities required for cold storage, sorting, and agro-processing activities aimed at serving domestic and export markets.
