Construction of the Muguga Village ESP Market in Kiambaa, Kiambu County, has reached the finishing stages following the completion of major structural works.
The project is part of a broader infrastructure rollout under the Economic Stimulus Program, designed to provide decentralized trading facilities for small and micro-enterprises across the region.
Current progress on-site shows that both the ground and first-floor structural shells are fully established. Recent site inspections confirmed that window installations are in place, a transition from heavy civil works to the final phases of the build.
The facility is designed to accommodate 164 traders in a modern environment, replacing informal trading setups that often left vendors exposed to weather elements.
Throughout the implementation period, the site has served as a source of local employment. The contractor has utilized a workforce comprising artisans, technical specialists, and general laborers drawn from the surrounding community.
This labor-intensive approach is a standard requirement for ESP market projects, which aim to provide immediate economic support to residents during the construction cycle.
Upon delivery, the market is expected to serve as a commercial anchor for Muguga and the wider Kiambaa area. The finished structure will offer dedicated stalls and improved service delivery features intended to streamline local trade.
By providing a permanent, organized venue for commerce, the project aims to stabilize regional supply chains and support the growth of small businesses within the county.
