Defense officials inspecting the 10,000-capacity facility in Nyandarua target a tight deadline, following progress made since May works began.

Construction activities at the Ol Kalou Stadium site in Nyandarua County have achieved approximately 13 percent completion following an official inspection.

The Ministry of Defence (MoD) is serving as the project manager for the development.

Dr Patrick Mariru visited the site to evaluate progress on the 10,000-seater capacity stadium, which is designed to expand access to modern sporting facilities and support regional talent development.

Works on the site commenced in May this year, with teams completing the primary foundation phase. Contractors are actively executing concrete pouring across key structural areas of the facility.

Column formwork and steel reinforcement for the terraces are currently progressing concurrently to maintain site momentum.

Monitoring procedures remain in place to keep the project on schedule and aligned with established standards.

Completion is targeted for November this year, matching the approved project implementation timeframe directed by President William Samoei Ruto. Senior leadership continues to track site milestones to support timely delivery.

Chief of Special Projects at Defence Headquarters, Brigadier Titus Sokobe, attended the site visit alongside the Deputy County Commissioner (DCC) for Nyandarua Central, Keneth Kiprop.

The development forms part of broader sports infrastructure initiatives currently underway to boost athletic facilities across the regional counties.
