Kenya's engineering regulator is hosting a three-day summit in Nakuru this July focused on smart technology and resilience, open to both members and non-members.

The Institution of Engineers of Kenya (IEK) Women Engineers Committee (WEC) will hold its second annual Women Engineers Summit from July 21 to 23, 2026, at The Encore Hotel in Nakuru City.

The summit runs under the theme "Advancing Smart Intelligent Engineering Solutions for a Resilient Future," positioning the event around emerging technology, innovation, and the role of women in shaping Kenya's engineering landscape.

IEK, founded in 1972 as the learned society of the engineering profession in Kenya, established the Women Engineers Committee to advance the representation and professional development of women across engineering disciplines. The WEC uses events of this kind to bring together practitioners, academics, policymakers, and students in a setting that combines technical content with mentorship and industry networking.

Registration is open to IEK members and non-members, with physical attendance costing Ksh35,000 for members and Ksh40,000 for non-members. Online attendance is available at Ksh15,000 for members and Ksh18,000 for non-members, with international delegates charged $350. Participants earn 14 Professional Development Units (PDUs) upon completion.

Those interested can register through the IEK website at iekenya.org or by contacting IEK directly at +254 721 729363 or +254 020 2729326.
