The workshop will bring together public and private sector stakeholders to discuss equitable financing approaches under Kenya's buildings decarbonisation agenda.

Women in Real Estate (WIRE) Kenya will hold a workshop on women's access to green finance on July 3, 2026, in partnership with the Global Buildings Performance Network (GBPN).

The workshop, themed "Engendered and Equitable Finance: Advancing Women's Access to Green Finance for Kenya's Decarbonization Agenda," will run from 8.30am to 4.00pm at Fairview Hotel on Bishop Road, Nairobi. It is being held under the Kenya Buildings Decarbonization Finance Accelerator Programme.

The session is expected to bring together stakeholders from the public and private finance sectors, the built environment, and development organisations to explore how green finance mechanisms can be structured to be more inclusive and equitable. Discussions are expected to focus on shaping financing approaches that support both decarbonisation goals and broader access for women working within Kenya's construction and real estate sectors.

The workshop is supported by the State Department for Public Works and carries backing from GBPN, an international organisation focused on improving the energy and carbon performance of buildings globally.

WIRE Kenya has described the workshop as an opportunity for participants to engage in dialogue and contribute directly to shaping financing frameworks within the built environment. Slots for the workshop are limited, and registration is open to WIRE members in good standing through an online registration form.

The event forms part of a broader push within Kenya's building sector to align decarbonisation efforts with equitable access to financing, as climate-linked building standards and green building certification requirements continue to expand across both public and private development projects in the country.
