The institute expressed sincere appreciation to all members, council officials and stakeholders who attended and contributed to the AGM. Their active participation strengthens the profession and its future.
Quantity surveyors play an indispensable role in Kenyaβs construction industry. They manage project costs, prepare tender documents, administer contracts and deliver value engineering across housing, infrastructure, commercial and public sector developments.
The new leadership takes office amid sustained growth in Kenyaβs built environment. Ongoing projects in roads, affordable housing, hospitals and urban infrastructure demand skilled quantity surveyors to maintain budgetary discipline and project efficiency.
This election continues a trend of strong member consensus seen in previous cycles, where several positions had unopposed candidates. The smooth transition bodes well for continuity and progress within the profession.
Mjengo Hub congratulates Qs. Janet Chirchir and the full council and wishes them every success in upholding professional standards, advancing member capabilities and supporting Kenyaβs development agenda.
The incoming team is expected to focus on key areas such as digital transformation in quantity surveying, capacity building programmes and policy advocacy on matters affecting tendering and project delivery.
With Kenya pushing forward major infrastructure initiatives under Vision 2030 and county governments, effective leadership at IQSK will help ensure the profession remains relevant and well-equipped to meet industry demands.
The institute remains committed to building a stronger, unified body of professionals. This new council is well positioned to drive collaboration, ethical practice and innovation in the sector.
