Alliance High School has completed a new 2,400-seat dining hall delivered by the State Department for Housing and Urban Development to support the implementation of the Competency-Based Education curriculum.

Alliance High School in Kiambu County has finalized the construction of a new dining hall facility designed to accommodate 2,400 students. The project, delivered through the State Department for Housing and Urban Development, comes as the institution prepares for the return of learners next week and the subsequent rollout of the Competency-Based Education (CBE) curriculum at the Senior School level.

The facility is intended to address the infrastructure requirements of a growing student population. By providing a modern environment for meal times, the hall aims to improve daily school operations and student welfare. Government officials indicated that the delivery of such infrastructure is a component of the broader strategy to ensure the CBE framework is supported by adequate physical resources.

This development aligns with the school’s transition into the new curriculum phases, where the demand for expanded capacity has become a priority for national schools. The completion of the hall ensures that the school can manage the seating and service of its entire student body within a single, unified space.

The State Department for Housing and Urban Development oversaw the delivery of the project to ensure the structure meets modern standards of safety and efficiency. As students report for the new academic year, the facility is expected to be commissioned formally to mark its transition into full use.
