The State Department for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Development has confirmed arrangements for a major disbursement exercise at the Moi International Sports Centre in Kasarani. Principal Secretary Susan Mang'eni visited the venue on Sunday to assess its readiness for the event, scheduled for Monday and expected to draw over 10,000 beneficiaries from Nairobi, Kiambu and Kajiado counties.
The exercise forms part of Phase Two of the NYOTA Project's Business Support Component, which targets young people who have completed mandatory business skills training. President William Ruto is set to grace the occasion. Officials have mobilised National Government Administration Officers to coordinate safe transport for participants to and from the stadium, with live coverage planned across mainstream television stations.
The NYOTA initiative, a government programme financed largely by the World Bank, provides start-up capital to youth for enterprise development, alongside mentorship. Beneficiaries who have finished training are being contacted directly to attend. The Kasarani venue, a long-established multi-purpose facility in Nairobi's northern suburbs, has hosted various large gatherings and was recently upgraded to meet international standards for events.
This disbursement follows earlier rollouts in other regions, including Western Kenya in late 2025, and continues the phased national implementation across multiple counties.
