Defence PS Inspects Kenneth Matiba Hospital Works as Project Hits 47 Percent Completion

The construction of the Kenneth Matiba Hospital in Murang'a County has reached 47 percent completion. Principal Secretary (PS) for Defence Dr Patrick Mariru confirmed the progress during an inspection tour of the active building site.

The Ministry of Defence (MoD) is supervising the ongoing construction works. Military engineers and project managers are monitoring daily operations to ensure that structural assembly adheres strictly to technical specifications.

During the site visit, Dr Mariru reviewed completed foundation structures and rising masonry walls. He stated that site activities are progressing steadily and remain aligned with established delivery schedules.

The completed facility will expand local health infrastructure by providing state-of-the-art medical services. It will serve residents within Murang'a County, while also accommodating patients from neighboring regional communities.

Health administrators expect the facility to reduce patient pressure on existing regional referral hospitals. The new complex will offer specialized treatment options, alongside routine clinical services and emergency care.
