The planned supertall skyscraper at the heart of the financial district of the United Kingdom (UK) capital has officially received a new name, as the development moves into its next phase. The 74-storey building, which was previously known as One Undershaft, has been renamed One London.
The tower will reach a structural height of 309.6 metres, which matches the Shard. This height aligns with the strict aviation ceiling established across the city, because the building cannot exceed these limits due to nearby flight paths, which restrict vertical development in the financial cluster.
Designed by Eric Parry Architects, the skyscraper will introduce a substantial volume of premium commercial workspace. The project introduces approximately 117,000 square metres of office space into the City of London, which will help meet the growing demand for modern workplace environments.
The architectural blueprint incorporates a large podium and a new public garden, which projects directly from the main structure. This layout provides an integrated green space, which offers a clear contrast to the traditional sealed corporate environments that typically dominate the urban skyline.
The appearance of this modern design is illustrated in the rendering file. This image highlights the vertical profile of the tower, which features distinct tiers, and shows how the structure relates to the surrounding historic and contemporary architecture in the district.
A broader aerial view is captured in the file named 257230.png, which displays the dusk skyline. This perspective confirms that the tower will stand as a major feature alongside existing high-rise developments, but it maintains a balanced alignment with the established height limits of the city.
