Civil earthworks along the strategic Rironi to Mau Summit road corridor between Rironi and Naivasha are making tangible headway across multiple active sections, according to project status details on the critical transport artery.

On the stretch connecting Rironi to Kimende, crew operations have advanced the bulk of the carriageway to formation level. Isolated segments along this section have progressed further to the sub-base layer, while workers have finished constructing a majority of the major drainage structures.

A similar level of earthworks completion extends across the subsequent sections of the route. The corridor linking Kimende to Kijabe mirrors this operational progress, maintaining identical status levels for earthworks preparation and civil drainage installations.

Continuing along the alignment, the stretch from Kijabe to Kinale leading up to the Flyover interchange shows matching development. The civil contractor has kept civil progress uniform across these adjoining highland zones, bringing formation levels up to grade.

Further along the corridor, contractor momentum appears to have shifted notably on the final leg. Construction activity on the segment spanning from Flyover to Naivasha seems to have picked up serious pace, with almost all required drainage structures now put into place.

This major arterial highway connects Kenya's capital region to the Rift Valley and western hinterlands, carrying significant heavy commercial transit daily. Infrastructure upgrades along the highway aim to expand capacity and reduce severe freight bottlenecks on the Northern Corridor route managed under the Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA).

As earthworks move past basic formation towards full pavement layering, site engineers continue to prioritize structural drainage to protect the finished carriageway against regional rainfall runoff. Work remains ongoing across the designated contract packages.
