KeNHA has announced a four-and-a-half-hour traffic disruption on Mombasa Road (A8) this Sunday, November 30, 2025. The closure, from 6:00 am to 10:30 am, affects the critical section between Nyayo Stadium Roundabout and Museum Hill Interchange for essential infrastructure work. Motorists must plan for alternative routes.

The Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) has issued a critical traffic advisory, notifying motorists and the general public of a planned temporary disruption along a key segment of the Mombasa Road (A8) highway.

This essential intervention, which is likely related to ongoing infrastructural improvements or critical maintenance checks along the corridor, is scheduled to occur on Sunday, November 30, 2025.

The closure window is set for a four-and-a-half-hour period, starting promptly at 6:00 am and concluding by 10:30 am. The disruption will affect the stretch of road located between the Nyayo National Stadium Roundabout and the Museum Hill Interchange.

The authority recognizes the strategic importance of the A8 corridor, which serves as the backbone of logistics and travel in the capital, making its consistent maintenance paramount to national economic activity.

Motorists who rely on this route for travel into or out of the central business district on the specified morning are strongly advised to seek and utilize alternative routes to avoid significant delays.

Alternative travel plans are mandatory for commuters, especially those heading towards the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) or other critical destinations accessible via Mombasa Road, such as Upper Hill or Westlands.

Recommended diversions may include using Chiromo Road or accessing the city through Thika Superhighway and utilizing inner-city links if approaching from the north.

KeNHA urged the public to exercise patience and cooperate fully with traffic management personnel and road safety marshals who will be deployed on the ground to guide vehicles and ensure minimal confusion.

This proactive communication from the authority is a necessary measure to uphold safety standards and facilitate the continuous, high-quality operation of the nation's infrastructure, ensuring that development work proceeds efficiently with the least possible impact on daily movement.
