A major regional paint manufacturer has sent its highest-performing distributors from Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania on an exclusive five-day incentive trip to North Africa following strong retail volumes.

Crown Paints Kenya PLC (PLC) has flown its top-performing regional distribution partners to Morocco for a five-day luxury trip, highlighting the competitive battle for market share in the East African construction supply chain.

The incentive trip was organized under the manufacturer's flagship TAJI dealer recognition programme, which aims to reward high performance and secure brand loyalty among the region's premier hardware and paint merchants.

Dealers from Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania were selected for the reward based on their exceptional sales volumes and consistent performance across the companyโ€™s regional distribution network.

The regional paint market has become increasingly competitive, forcing major manufacturers to rely heavily on structured dealer incentive schemes to maintain shelf space in key hardware outlets.

By targeting distributors across three East African countries, the manufacturer is looking to consolidate its regional footprint at a time when local infrastructure projects demand stable supply lines.

In addition to the incentive rewards, the company has recently focused on expanding its product portfolio to support its distribution network, introducing several specialized coatings to the regional market.

Among the new introductions is Crown Aqua Glow, an eco-friendly water-based enamel designed for interior and exterior applications where a high-gloss finish is required.

The manufacturer has also introduced Crown Damp Protek, a waterproof coating developed to mitigate internal and external dampness, a frequent challenge in regional building maintenance.

According to Crown Paints Senior Product Manager (SPM) Rakesh Biswas, dampness remains a pervasive issue in many homes, and the product was designed to offer long-lasting protection across multiple surfaces.

To complement the moisture-protection range, the firm also launched Crown Rain Protek, a fiber-reinforced, liquid-applied acrylic coating engineered to provide a flexible membrane for roofs and terraces.

The combination of technical product launches and high-profile dealer incentives reflects the manufacturer's broader strategic push to drive higher sales volumes through its existing retail partnerships.

As building material costs fluctuate across East Africa, structured reward initiatives like the TAJI programme remain a critical tool for manufacturers seeking to safeguard their market share.
