SpaceX has finalized the launch date for its eleventh flight test, which will introduce the advanced Version 3 vehicle designed for deep-space missions and complex orbital maneuvers.

Space Exploration Technologies Corporation (SpaceX) has confirmed that the debut launch of its upgraded Starship Version 3 (V3) vehicle is scheduled for Tuesday evening, May 19, 2026.

The upcoming mission, designated as Flight 12, will originate from the company's Starbase facility located in South Texas.

This test flight represents a substantial shift in the infrastructure development of the mega-rocket program, although the flight path will follow a suborbital trajectory similar to previous tests.

Engineers have integrated critical structural modifications into the V3 platform, including a reduced count of three grid fins on the Super Heavy booster to minimize thermal exposure.

The upper stage, known as Ship, features a thermal protection system consisting of 40,000 closely set hexagonal stainless-steel tiles.

Operational objectives for the flight include the deployment of 22 dummy Starlink broadband satellites to test payload delivery mechanisms for future orbital infrastructure networks.

Crews at the South Texas facility recently completed a full-duration static fire test of the propulsion systems along with a comprehensive launch rehearsal to verify pad system readiness.

Flight 12 will also utilize Starbase Launch Pad 2 for the first time, following extensive infrastructure upgrades to the localized propellant storage farms and high-capacity pumping assemblies.
