Lamu Road Upgrade Transforms Pumwani Ward as Major Infrastructure Works Take Shape

Lamu Road in Nairobi’s Pumwani Ward has been fully completed from Shauri Moyo to the Digo Road junction in Majengo, marking a major milestone in ongoing infrastructure improvements in the area. The completion, announced by Kamukunji MP Yusuf Hassan, signals the government’s continued commitment to enhancing urban mobility and drainage systems within inner-city wards.

According to the update, Muinami Road in California Ward is currently under active construction, featuring a brand-new drainage system that is expected to improve stormwater management and reduce flooding incidents that have long affected the neighborhood. The ongoing works reflect a coordinated approach aimed at modernizing local roads while improving accessibility and sanitation.

Additionally, Digo, Meru, and Quarry Roads have been identified as the next priority projects slated for upgrades, underscoring the government’s focus on equitable development across densely populated estates.
