Transport infrastructure authorities in China have completed key operational milestones at the Hefei West Railway Station in Shushan District, Hefei, Anhui Province.

The newly developed high-speed rail facility serves as a major national transport junction, integrating regional passenger transit across several critical eastern rail lines.

Designers structured the terminal around a distinctive layout, featuring two taller side structures flanking a central building. The facility houses main boarding gates on the first level, while dedicated dining and retail areas occupy the second floor.

Metro Line 3 provides direct underground access, and urban transit operations will further expand as local subway infrastructure connects to the site.

The station anchors several major high-speed corridors, including the Hefei to Anqing to Jiujiang High-Speed Railway (HSR) and the newly operated section connecting to Sixian.

Designed for trains traveling up to 350 kilometers per hour, the terminal shortens transit times between Hefei and major economic hubs across the country, including Shanghai, Shenzhen, Nanchang, and Hangzhou.

Operational routes passing through the station significantly reduce regional travel times, cutting trips to Anqing down to one hour and links to Shenzhen to eight hours.

Passenger facilities inside the main hall feature digital charging points, specialized assistance desks, and dedicated waiting spaces to manage heavy daily commuter volumes smoothly.

China Railway (CR) continues to expand the surrounding rail grid, integrating the terminal into broader east-west passenger trunk lines.

Additional high-speed rail projects connecting regional capitals and industrial centers will continue linking into the network as regional construction progresses.
