The Kenya Urban Roads Authority (KURA) plans to build two new flyovers along Ngong Road. The structures are expected to be located at Prestige Junction and the Daystar Roundabout.

The proposal aims to address persistent traffic congestion along one of Nairobi’s busiest corridors. Ngong Road serves as a key link between the city centre and residential areas in the west.

The new flyovers are expected to improve traffic flow and reduce delays at the two major junctions. Similar infrastructure projects in other parts of Nairobi have helped ease congestion at busy intersections.

Ngong Road has long been a major transport route connecting the Central Business District with areas such as Karen and Ngong. The road carries heavy volumes of traffic during peak hours.

The project comes as authorities continue to expand road infrastructure across the city. Elevated structures and interchanges have become a common approach to managing congestion in high-density corridors.

Further details on the project timeline, design and funding are expected once the plans are finalised. The Kenya Urban Roads Authority is yet to release a comprehensive implementation schedule.

The initiative reflects ongoing efforts to modernise Nairobi’s road network. Improved junctions are seen as essential for supporting economic activity and reducing travel times for commuters.
