National Government completes the construction of Rodi Kopany Economic Stimulus Programme market at a strategic road junction in Homa Bay County, clearing the path for its official commissioning.

Construction works at the Rodi Kopany Economic Stimulus Programme (ESP) market in Homa Bay County are officially complete, clearing the way for the facility to be handed over to local traders.

According to an update by Internal Security and National Administration Principal Secretary Dr. Raymond Omollo, the facility is now awaiting formal commissioning.

The trade facility is situated at the busy Rodi Kopany junction, which serves as an important logistical intersection connecting multiple trading routes across the county.

The delivery of the project falls under the National Government's Economic Stimulus Programme (ESP), a national initiative aimed at upgrading rural and peri-urban trade infrastructure.

National planners designed the market framework to align directly with the primary targets of the Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda (BETA), focusing heavily on improving market access for small-scale traders and informal vendors.

Freshly captured site imagery from the location, documented in file 231208.png, shows a modern multi-storey main market building flanked by newly deployed utility systems.

The completed site includes a large-capacity elevated steel water storage tank assembly, which will provide dedicated sanitation and running water to the commercial building.

The structural design incorporates a expansive open-plan upper floor covered by an engineered steel truss roofing system, maximizing ventilation and interior floor space for commercial stalls.

Ground-level external works include a dedicated solar photovoltaic array layout setup next to the primary complex, providing a renewable energy option to shield the market from utility outages.

The new building will replace the informal, iron-sheet stalls that have historically occupied the open ground at the junction, bringing organized retail space to the local community.

The market is part of a broader infrastructure push by the state, which has targeted multiple trading centres across Suba, Ndhiwa, and Rachuonyo constituencies for economic upgrades.

Local administrators expect the organized trading space to improve county revenue collection while giving vendors a secure environment that is shielded from the weather.

No official date has been locked in for the opening ceremony, but national administration officials are finalizing inspection protocols ahead of the launch.
