The Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) has intensified its quality assurance measures in the North Rift Region with a series of comprehensive inspections targeting major road corridors.
Led by Regional Director Eng. Philemon Kipkoech, the team recently undertook a detailed tour of several infrastructure projects to ascertain the current state of the network and ensure ongoing works adhere to strict engineering standards.
The inspection exercise covered a vast network of roads that are vital for trade and transport in the region. The team reviewed the condition of the Kapcherop-Moiben (B122) Road and the Kachibora-Kapcherop (B15) Road. These routes serve as essential links for local agricultural transport and general connectivity.
Furthermore, the team extended their assessment to the expansive Kapenguria-Konyao -Alale-Kauriong -Loima-Lodwar (B70) Road. This specific corridor is strategically significant as it opens up the northern frontiers of the country to the rest of Kenya.
These routine inspections are part of a broader strategy by the Authority to maintain a consistent presence on the ground. The primary objective is to verify that all structural works meet the highest benchmarks for safety, accessibility, and durability.
By strictly monitoring these projects, KeNHA aims to deliver infrastructure that can withstand environmental challenges while serving the heavy traffic demands of the region.
Through this consistent monitoring and robust quality assurance framework, KeNHA continues to strengthen regional connectivity. These efforts are geared towards supporting economic growth by facilitating the movement of goods and people.
Ultimately, the Authority seeks to safeguard communities by providing resilient and reliable infrastructure that enhances the quality of life for residents across the North Rift.
