Kings Orchid Affordable Housing Project in Thika Town Maintains Construction Schedule

Construction of the Kings Orchid Affordable Housing Project in Thika Town is proceeding according to the established timeline. The development, managed under the State Department for Housing and Urban Development, consists of four high-rise blocks. Three of these structures reach 14 floors, while the fourth stands at 16 floors. Collectively, they will provide 975 residential units, ranging from studio apartments to larger family homes, alongside integrated retail and office spaces.

The site is being developed as a self-contained community with a focus on modern infrastructure and security. Civil works include the installation of concrete-paved driveways, a borehole for a reliable water supply, and the construction of secure boundary walls. Residents will have access to a community hall, children’s play areas, and green spaces. The technical specifications for the units include pre-installed Wi-Fi connectivity and dedicated retail areas to serve the growing population within the precinct.

Located within Thika Town, the project is positioned to utilize existing transport corridors and proximity to public institutions, healthcare centers, and sports facilities. This strategic placement is intended to support the residential needs of the local workforce while stimulating economic activity through job creation during the construction and post-occupancy phases.
The Ministry of Interior and National Administration is providing administrative support to ensure the site remains secure and operational. 

This inter-departmental coordination has been cited as a factor in maintaining uninterrupted work on-site. By managing stakeholder engagement at the local level and ensuring public order, the ministry facilitates a stable environment for the technical teams to meet their delivery targets.
